Step One:
-
1. We will need to get a signed agreement from the homeowner.
Step Two:
2. We then apply for and receive a roofing permit from the county or city.
3. The homeowner should remove any items, such as boats, cars, etc. from around the edges of the home and leave us access for our dump truck or dump trailer.
4. If living in a manufactured home, the homeowner may want to take down pictures or things hanging on the walls that might fall off because of the vibration from the tear-off.
Step Three:
-
5. We will back our dump truck/trailer up to a point close to the roof and begin to tear off the old roof.
6. The old shingle roof or other roof covering will be removed from the roof and thrown into the dump truck/trailer.
7. After tearing off the shingles or other roof covering, we will inspect the plywood and replace any rotted places.
8. We will install new asphalt felt, drip edge, and valley metal.
9. The tear-off crew will clean up the jobsite. We will run magnets and pick up shingle fragments and throw them into the dump truck/trailer. We will do our best, but we will unfortunately not be able to get every nail or piece of shingle. We can leave a magnet for the homeowner to use if they request us to leave it with them.
10. We will then call the roof in for a dry-in inspection.
Step Four:
-
11. An inspector from the county or city will come out and inspect the roof for code compliance.
12. If the roof does not pass inspection, we will amend the issues sited by the inspector and call back in for another dry-in inspection.
Step Five:
-
13. Upon passing the dry-in inspection, we will install plumbing boots and vents.
14. We will then shingle back the roof.
15. We will remove the rest of the roofing waste.
16. We will then call the roof in for a roofing final inspection.
17. We will supply the homeowner with an invoice for the completed work.
18. An inspector from the county or city will come out and inspect the roof for code compliance.
Step Six:
-
19. If the roof does not pass inspection, we will amend the issues sited by the inspector and call back in for another roofing final inspection.
20. The roofing process is completed upon passing the roofing final inspection.
